Rental Terms and Conditions
- The RENTER shall keep and maintain the rented equipment during the terms of the rental at their own cost and expense. They shall keep the equipment in a good state of repair, normal wear and tear expected.
- The RENTER shall pay the OWNER full compensation for replacement and/or repair of any equipment which is not returned in the correct condition due to being lost/stolen or damaged. Full repair/replacement costs can be found under the “Loss/Damage” section of equipment inventory.
- It is the RENTER’s responsibility to ensure all marks/issues with the equipment are correctly recorded on the inventory sheet before the equipment leaves the OWNER’s address as the equipment is expected to be returned in recorded condition.
- The RENTER shall not use the equipment for any illegal activity.
- The RENTER shall not permit the equipment to be used/borrowed by any third party during the lease period without the OWNER’s permission.
Loss/Damage
As per section 2 in the terms & conditions found on the equipment hire agreement form, the renter is liable to pay compensation to cover any loss/damage of equipment during the lease term. The following costs will go against deposit taken at time of hire:
- Lost key: £10
- Key broken in lock: £60
- Significant scratches caused by misuse: £100
Any significant damage rendering the item unusable or unsuitable for rehire will be charged at £400 for roof box and £150 for roof bar/bike carrier. Additional funds to be paid on return of item. If the equipment is lost or stolen the same charges will be applied.
