Thinking about buying a TentBox but want to try one first? Our TentBox Lite XL hire service gives you the chance to experience one of TentBox's most spacious rooftop tents before committing to your own.
Perfect for family camping trips, weekends away, road trips and outdoor adventures, the TentBox Lite XL comfortably sleeps up to 4 people and can be set up in around 5 minutes.
TentBox Hire – Try Before You Buy
If you decide you love your TentBox experience, we'll make buying one even better. 50% of your hire fee can be used as a discount towards purchasing a TentBox from us for up to 30 days after your hire.
It's an ideal way to try a TentBox Lite XL before you buy and discover whether rooftop camping is right for you.
TentBox Lite XL Hire Prices & Information
- Hire price is charged per day.
- Minimum hire period is 3 nights / 4 days.
- Fitting is included in the hire price.*
- Discounted rates are available for 7-day and 14-day TentBox hires.
- A £300 refundable deposit is payable on collection.
- 50% of your hire fee can be redeemed against a TentBox purchase for 30 days following your hire.
*Vehicles over 2 metres high incur an additional £25 fitting surcharge.
Which TentBox Will I Receive?
Our TentBox Lite XL hire fleet includes blue, green and orange roof tents. Hire tents are allocated according to availability, so unfortunately we cannot guarantee or offer a choice of colour when your TentBox is fitted.

Return Times
- Monday & Thursday: 09:00–10:00
- Friday & Saturday: 08:00–10:00
Late returns are charged at £20 per 30 minutes. This ensures we have enough time to clean, inspect and prepare each TentBox for the next customer.
Important: If a return after 12:00 delays the next customer's booking, the returning hirer will be liable for the affected customer's full rental cost.

The TentBox Lite XL is a spacious rooftop tent designed for families, couples, pet owners and campers who want extra room while travelling.
Featuring a huge super-king mattress, the TentBox Lite XL can comfortably sleep up to 4 people. Its spacious interior makes it an excellent alternative to a traditional ground tent for family camping holidays, festivals, weekend escapes and longer road trips.
Despite its size, the TentBox Lite XL can be set up in around 5 minutes, giving you a comfortable basecamp without the hassle of pitching a conventional tent.
